I don’t know what it is about this show that we have here but it sure is funky! Thats right party people we are back another Wednesday evening at 7pm PST to bring you the sophisticated ignorance you have grown to love right here on Cypher Lounge Radio.

This week, we have the star marker and producer of Def Comedy Jam as well as LaffMobb, Mr. Bob Sumner.  We also have the one and only Mr. Checkpoint rocking with us. If you want to know how to avoid a DUI and what your rights are, this is the dude you need to follow on twitter.  You know Hassahn Phenomenon and Dasha, the Divine Divah will have some fun with him when he steps into the Cypher.

Cypher Lounge Welcomes Donny Goines to the Party

Who the f%#k is this, paging me at 5:46 in the morning…Warning!, Cypher Lounge Radio is back with another week of mayhem, motivation, and music, with a “Move the Crowd” mentality.  The “Employee of the Year,” Hassahn Phenomenon along with “The Divine Diva,” Dasha will be holdin’ it down with Philly’s own, Truck North as he talks about his future and his affiliation with the Legendary Roots Crew.  Also joining the party will be Kyle Lucas from the band Vonnegutt. He will be chopping in up with the dynamic duo about his series of mixtapes and about being signed to Purple Ribbon Records, owned by Big Boi from Outkast. Cypher Lounge Radio Is Sort of A BIG Deal

Ladi da di, we came to party, we don’t cause trouble, we don’t bother nobody, we’re just… back with another week of Cypher Lounge Radio. The Divine Diva, Dasha and the incredibly incredible, Hassahn Phenomenon will be joined this week by North Carolina’s own, Rapper Big Pooh from the critically acclaimed group, Little Brother.  He’s coming through the Cypher Lounge to talk about his solo project as well as what’s next for him, Phonte, and 9th Wonder in regard to the Little Brother legacy.  Also joining HP and Dasha, will be awe-inspiring author, Angie Jones as she drops in to let the world know about her new book, Struck.  As an added bonus, producer Jonathan Newton will be stopping by to talk about how he came up with the beat to win the P5Audio R&B Banga Beat Competition.  As usual, the Phenomenon and the Divine Diva will be bringing the pain in methods this week on Cypher Lounge Radio.  It’s going down like 4 flat tires! Greetings & Salutations Family, Friends, & Honored Guests.  Last night on Cypher Lounge Radio we had the honor of having Author, Dr. Marsan Q. Champion as our live-in-studio guest.  We had an overwhelming response from our listeners after we discussed his amazing soon-to-be released book “Lost Soul.”

We are proud to announce that Cypher Lounge Radio along with Dr. Champion is launching a contest for any up and coming artist, illustrator, graphic designer, etc that is looking to break into the industry.

THE PRIZES:

THE RULES:

  1. Design a book cover for “Lost Soul” based on the synopsis of the book provided by Dr. Champion. (posted below)
  2. Once you are done with your sketch, drawing, or whatever simply email it to us at cypherloungeradio@gmail.com by the submission date of April 21, 2010.  We will take submissions up until 11:59pm 4/21/2010.
  3. As the submissions come in, we will post them on our blog site and allow Cypher Lounge listeners and anyone else to comment and give us feedback on the art work.
  4. We will pick the top 3 book covers
  5. Dr. Marsan Champion will choose from the top 3.
  6. The winner will be announced on April 28, 2010 live on Cypher Lounge Radio.

THE SYNOPSIS

Lost Soul: The Perilous Pedagogy of Tajalik Stokes

Dr. Marsan Q. Champion

Tajalik Stokes (Taj-a-leak) is a 14 year-old middle school student who is growing up on Chicago’s north side. He is travelling a path of destruction as he is running with the Vice Lord street gang. After many suspensions from school Tajalik, is now facing expulsion and a transfer to an alternative school. Tajalik has been labeled as a special education student because of his diagnosed learning disabilities (EMH-Educable Mentally Handicap and EH-Emotionally Handicap). Through his frustrations of not being able to fit in with the regular school population, Tajalik has developed a character of defiance and disobedience. His mother, Yolanda Stokes, is doing everything she can as a single mother to get through to her son but is losing patience as he continues with his sinful nature.

To understand the vibe of the Cypher Lounge, imagine a private After-Party where Jay-z, MC-Lyte, Martin Luther King, John F.
